Hello All: I downloaded and installed Templot 208b. On startup, I'm informed that this is not the latest version, and then Templot closes, and opens the update page, where I get the exact same version, which on installation, repeats the whole process. Any advice? Is something buggy? BTW I'm working on Windows 7. Thanks Jacques Gerber |

Hi Jacques, I can't see any problem from here. Anyone else seeing this? I think the problem must be a caching issue at your ISP. I have now edited the file on the server which hopefully will update the timestamp and cause your ISP to re-fetch the cache. Please try again now. If still now joy, please wait a few hours and then try again. Templot checks the USA server only if the UK server fails to respond at all. I will change the code so that Templot won't close without trying both servers for a correct response. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin, Yes I'm also having this problem. Also running Windows 7. I launched TempIot told I was not using latest version, installed 208b and then launched from the install. Then get the same message "Not running current version" and taken to install page again! Program files are showing that 208b is installed. Regards, Martin |

Martin Wynne wrote: Hi Jacques,Yes, me too. I was using Templot2 this morning perfectly successfully. Clicked on the shortcut to start Templot a few minutes ago and got the message saying that a new version is available (2.08b) - went through the usual download/run/install procedure and when Templot tried to start again it gave the same "update needed" message, and so on round the loop. Never had anything similar happen with previous updates. Regards, Stuart |

Sorry about this, it is probably affecting everyone. There seems to be a problem with the UK server. There are reports of lots of internet problems today. Please try again later. I will see what I can find out in the meantime. Martin. |

Hello Martin and All: Sorry for the late reply, but I can only use your software on weekends when my wife isn't using her Laptop. My work computer uses ports that we may not change, and they're incompatible with Templot contacting its server. Finally had the opportunity to try reloading it. No success. I'm getting the same response. I also tried un-installing, and then re-installing, as well as clearing the cache. Jacques |

I can only point out that Templot is a hobby program intended to be used by modelmakers on their own computer. It's not intended for work computers owned and controlled by someone else. regards, Martin. |

Can I ask if there is a solution to this issue? Is there certain ports that need to be opened. I decided to install the update this morning and start some design work, but no luck. Just keep getting told that the current version isn't the current version. thanksRichard |

Hi Richard, Have you actually installed the updated version? Templot isn't like Windows and Firefox and some other programs which update themselves. After downloading the new file you must Run (Open) it by double-clicking on it, to install the new version of Templot. Everything is working fine here, so there is nothing more I can do. If the problem is on the server, please just wait 10 minutes and then try again. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin, Yep, downloaded and installed. This was actual a clean install rather than update. Anyway, it is working now. Wasn't all morning (Australia), so it must have had issues contacting the server. thanks Richard |

I will try to do something about this when I have more time. At present a serious family illness is taking up most of my time, which is likely to be the case for several weeks. Martin. |

Hi Martin, I can confirm what you say about the server being under maintenance after midnight. Last night, at about 12:25 am, I tried to open Templot in order to quickly check something, but got the dreaded message, ”I was not using the correct version”, yet I had been using Templot earlier in the afternoon. However, I read your comments in this section of Templot Club, and decided I would abandon opening the program, and try again today. Sure enough when I tried opening the program this afternoon, it worked perfectly, with no dreaded message at all. Now, I had done nothing at all, no re-load or download of the program, ergo, it had to be the server. Bye the way, I do sincerely hope your family troubles will be over quickly all will be well, and I wish you and your family a speedy recovery. All the best, Brian. |

The "midnight UK server" problem should now be resolved. Templot version 208c is now available for download: topic 1500 This is a maintenance update -- there are no significant new features. regards, Martin. |
