I have created a 3 way turnout and have come across a problem when trying to attach another template to it. The pegging notch positions the template in what appears to be a random position and the tracks do not line up. I have tried to source the problem but have failed miserably so I thought I would ask the wider Templot audience for further advice. Hopefully my attempt to attach the box file has worked. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Mike |

Hi Mike, F7 snapping doesn't work too well on complex formations comprised of multiple partial templates because Templot doesn't know which of the templates to snap on to. Here it is choosing the wrong one (the blanked off middle V-crossing template). F7 snapping is really intended only for simple beginner trackplans. To do what you want, click on the first turnout in the tandem, and then peg/align tools > snap the control template onto background template > at CTRL-0 datum menu item. Alternatively you could extend some approach track (F3) on the first turnout and then split it off as a separate template. This not only provides alignment but also matches the radius for the smoothest result. regards, Martin. |
