After buying presents for everyone else, how about one for yourself? The Times coffee-table book "Mapping the Railways", originally published at £30 is currently on offer in WHSmith for just £3. Which is a bargain for a nicely-finished A4 hardback with dust cover, 300 full-colour pages, every kind of map of UK railways, all excellently reproduced. Happy Christmas everyone and best wishes for 2016. Martin. |

A merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all. And to add another purchase suggestion to Martin's, The Works discount book etc shop has a tin of 5 railway related DVDs for sale. One each for the big four, and one for BR. Cost UKP7. There are others in the range, and if one appeals, it's 2 for UKP10. Thank's for Templot and all the support. Mark Austin |

Hi Everyone, Happy Boxing day from Maraetai, Auckland, New Zealand - back in the UK at the end of January! Yes, my little brother got me a copy of that book a few years ago for Christmas. Probably not much TEMPLOTing in 2016, but more baseboard building for Singleton, but I did succumb to temptation and buy a Dapol Terrier as a Christmas present for myself, so I may have to plan a mini O gauge layout (will be KESR themed....) Best wishes Richard |

John Lewis wrote: Hi Richard,Hi John, Hmmm! I shall have to leave that for my 4mm scale layout (Northiam) - at the last count I had 8 Terriers (5 Westward and 3 K's in various states of incompletion!) Some will be done in SR livery for running on Singleton as well. The 7mm Dapol is "Bodiam" in KESR blue livery, so my initial thoughts are for a pre' WW1 imagination of the junction for the proposed Rye extension..... Best wishes for 2016 to everyone Regards Richard |
