This looks as if it might be of interest to a Templot user: http://www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/csr/jobs.cgi?jcode=1620972 I'm not sure why they sent the details to me -- I felt tired just reading the job description. Martin. |

Martin, Sounds like an interesting job. I don't think I would pass the security vetting, when they checked my financial situation they would class me as possibly insane for spending so much of my wealth on model trains and plastic aeroplanes Think I will just stick to reading the RAIB reports as they arrive in the inbox. I have the job vacancy email too for that reason. Rob |

Hi Rob, I would definitely fail the security vetting. I've lost count of the number of gates I've climbed over in the last few years. Martin. |

Um, I was onboard with this until the end. "Over time, you will become the focal point for all electronic data gathering, storage, handling, analysis and presentation within the RAIB." It sounds like all the finger-pointing will be directed at the successful applicant! |

I did 28 years in the civil service - I actually applied for 2 posts in HMRI (not RAIB)on transfer from my department and was interviewed for one, which I narrowly missed - in fact the feedback advised me that I should have applied for the other job - which I had done, but a member of the clerical staff had taken my application off the file for some reason and forgot to put it back! In the end I got so disenchanted with the promotion procedure in my department, that I took my pension 2 years early - I probably couldn't have afforded to do that if I had transferred to HMRI! |
