Hello, Years ago I worked with Templot on an ancient Lenovo laptop running Windows XP. That was my “work” computer, but I have been a Mac user since the Mac was introduced. I am getting back into model railroading, so I loaded Parallels Desktop15 and Windows 10 and downloaded Templot2. (I have a 2019 version iMac, and I upgraded a few days ago to OS Catalina v. 10.15.1.) The attached screenshot summarizes my problem. The program opens with no problem, the work surface appears OK, but the menu bar and floating windows are postage-stamps that I can barely read: 3627_111652_460000000.png I’m at a loss, even to know where to begin to find the problem. I don’t know if this is a Mac problem, Windows problem, or a Templot problem. I briefly searched the Club discussions, but found nothing that looked useful. I’d like to solve the issue so I can start designing. I belong to a U.S. Free-mo group, an HO Scale organization derived from the European Fremo standard (maybe you know this already). The flexibility of the Free-mo design standards opens any number of opportunities for custom track work. I especially like building turnouts. Thank you, Robert Edmonson |

Hi Robert, Welcome to Templot Club. I know nothing about Macs, others here may be better placed to add to this. You are not seeing the full Templot screen for some reason. Do this: 2_111722_210000000.png 1. click restore down on the trackpad window. 2. you should then see in the bottom right corner, the program size slider. Move it upwards until you get a comfortable result after making the change. This will change the size of most things in Templot. But not the menus. The size of those is controlled by your display settings in Windows10, outside of Templot's control. Close Templot, then on the Windows desktop, right-click on a blank area and select Display Settings. Then under Scale and layout I suggest you set 125% or 150%, for the size of your screen. Note that this will affect all your Windows programs, not only Templot. Thanks for alerting me to this problem. I will add a means in the next program update to adjust the program size without needing access to the slider. p.s. If you have right-clicked on the ? icon, the slider will have been hidden. You will need to restart Templot to see it again. cheers, Martin. |

I adjusted program size and display settings as recommended. They're at 350 percent, and could be larger. Also adjusted screen resolution to fit my machine.

Does that mean you are now happy with the way Templot is working on your system? 350% is far higher than I have ever seen anyone using before. Are there any settings in Parallels Desktop which need changing? Do you have any advice for other users of a similar computer system? cheers, Martin. |

Nothing to report, and it will be a while. I have some other projects that demand my attention. I will, however, check the settings in Parallels.

Parallels Support informs me that Microfits is having activation problems with Windows 10. No Windows, no Templot, altho MS suggests an older version of Windows. |

Hi Robert, Are you asking for help there? Unfortunately I know nothing about running Windows on an Apple Mac, or anything else about Apple computers or devices. But I'm sure someone else here does. Until recently the best way to run Templot on a Mac was to use Codeweavers CrossOver: http://www.codeweavers.com/products or the free equivalent Winebottler: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ neither of which need a copy of Windows or Parallels, or a connection to the Microsoft servers. However, I understand that Apple have now broken their customers' computers by disabling all 32-bit programs, including CrossOver/Wine. If that hasn't happened on your system, you could try running Templot that way. Here is some news about CrossOver for 64-bit systems: http://www.codeweavers.com/about/blogs/tag:catalina I don't know if that is the latest news. cheers, Martin. |

Not asking for help, just reporting what I know. I wouldn't go so far as to say my Mac has been "broken," but yes, Apple is no longer supporting 32-bit programs. They gave plenty of warning of what they were planning. It means installing upgrades on a number of applications I use frequently. (Also a good rationale for deleting other apps I don't use.) You list the Parallels virtual machine as one way of running Templot. I'm familiar with it, so I bought it. The message I received from from P. Support yesterday (16th) was they are also waiting for the Windows 10 activation fix. I'm taking it on faith that Parallels/Windows 10/Templot will work on my machine. I saw Codeweavers' announcement. It appears that they are beginning to work on a CrossOver 64-bit version. So the question is, who's going to get the fix the fastest? I'll bank on Parallels, mainly because I don't want to spend the extra money on another application. |

I've just installed Parallels on my Mac. I too have had the small menu issue but I'm learning to squint. I was running Templot on a native PC but the constant monitor display port issue caused me to look at other solutions. Parallels was painless and quick and I was installed, preferenced up and running within 20 mins. I'm running on a 5k iMac with a second 4k monitor. Have you looked at the monitor/output settings on the mac? There are options to scale the display.
