Hi Martin/all, When I log into the forum my browser (Firefox) confirms that the connection is secure. However, I'm currently trying to change my password and when doing so the browser warns me that the connection is not secure (red line thru' the padlock, and no htpps indication). Any ideas please? Many thanks. Kind Regards, Brian |

Hi Brian, What were you planning to post on here which needs to be fully secure? Please don't use a password here which is the same as one you use on sites which do need to be secure. I would prefer that no-one posts anything on Templot Club that they wouldn't be happy to write on a postcard and pin to their front gate. To change your password on a more secure page, you can use this link: http://85a.co.uk/forum/my_account.php?change_password=1 You will probably then see the grey/yellow padlock icon instead of the grey/red one. Info about what that means in Firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mixed-content-blocking-firefox?redirectlocale=en-US&as=u&redirectslug=how-does-content-isnt-secure-affect-my-safety&utm_source=inproduct The theoretically insecure bits are some of the icons and images. I could change that but it means going through all the web site pages and changing URLs -- probably a whole days work for no actual practical gain. More about your personal data on this site at: topic 3273 cheers, Martin. |

Hi Martin, Many thanks - it was the actual "Change Password" page that was coming up as an insecure connection. However, the link to the same page that you included in your post gave me a secure connection, so password duly changed Not that I share the password with any financial, sensitive etc. sites ;) Many thanks Brian |

All, If you use this link to access Templot Club: http://85a.co.uk/forum/ Most of the pages will come up secure, or with only yellow padlock. It would be worth changing your browser bookmark if you use one to get here. If you end up with the red padlock showing, possibly from a link in an email or an old topic, you can swap to yellow by clicking the top picture on the page, or by clicking the Recent Topics buttons. I've just made a few changes so that the Companion is also yellow. A complete conversion of the entire site to fully secure, and with all old links still working, is a major task. Given that there is nothing on here which needs to be ultra-secure, I will leave that for another day. cheers, Martin. |
