I am returning to Templot having not used the software for a number of years and finding myself to be a little rusty. My current layout plan involves a through station with a run-round loop beyond the station platform. A couple of sidings are to be positioned behind the station which have exited off the run-round loop via a trailing 3-way. As per my sketch. 3181_061647_390000000.jpg You can see from the attached box file that I am trying to create the return curve off the mainline into the loop. I need to also install a trailing 3-way almost directly off the turnout from the mainline. I managed to create the return curve using the S-curve reverse transition function but once aligned with the loop the track join was right where I wanted to install the 3-way. Can anyone offer any guidance as to how I can achieve my aim? Thanks, Scott |

Hi Scott, You had an instant reverse curve in the running line, which didn't look good. I moved the turnout template 25mm to the right so that I could create an S-transition in place of the reverse curve. I then made a branch track from the turnout, and used the make simple link function to link it to the loop. Split the loop so that the constant 2nd radius is a separate template, inserted a LH turnout in it, and then make single-sided 3-way tandem. No idea if this is anything like what you are looking for, but it might suggest a way forward. 2_061743_110000000.png p.s. It doesn't look like a single-sided tandem, but it is. The loop line is the main road, both turnouts are LH into sidings. Box file attached below. cheers, Martin. |

Martin, Thank you kindly for your help. When you explain what you did it all seems very straight forward but I would never had thought of doing it that way, I certainly wasn't aware of the 'Make Simple Link' function. With the return curve being one seperate template, on a constant radius, I can play around with the tandem later today. Cheers, Scott |
