I had my previous template loaded. This is the "sampler" template that I've been playing with, attempting to get the parameters set up for Fn3. (I can send you that .box if you want it.) 1) Started with a fresh invocation of Templot v0.91c. Answered the startup questions in the "normal" way. 2) I had templot restore my previous storage box. At this point everything looks fine. 3) Main -> Clear all templates. 4) In confirmation window: yes - clear all templates without saving 5) Template -> REA B-6 LH Turnout Reset 6) In confirmation window: OK - reset and continue 7) Got a "non-standard timber length" window: "The existing nominal timber length is 76.13 inches, which is non-standars..." 8) Responded: Yes - use this length 9) Fatal Error "*** ERROR *** Sorry, Templot has suffered a fatal internal error and cannot continue. Please report fail code 24 ... quit Templot" It's repeatable. I tried it again, this time letting it reset to a standard tie length in step 8 above. Same fatal error. Any suggestions? Thanks, Joe (the troublemaker ) |

jeckardt wrote: Please report fail code 24Hi Joe, Sorry about that. Many thanks for reporting it -- it's not often we get a fail code reported. It means I can jump into the program code and see what's happening. I will get back to you. regards, Martin. |

Hi Joe, You have discovered a serious bug which has remained undetected for 10 years. The CTRL+Z REA resets don't work properly if the control template contains a custom switch, and don't work at all if the control template contains a custom gauge/scale setting which has not been adopted into the gauge/scale list. However, I'm a little puzzled about what you were trying to do. Resetting to an REA B6 makes no sense for a narrow-gauge turnout. That's the default startup setting for UK-pattern standard-gauge bullhead track. Thanks again for reporting the bug. I will get it fixed. regards, Martin. |

That's the default startup setting for UK-pattern standard-gauge bullhead track. What I was doing... Well, I had kind of come to an impasse trying to figure out how to complete my narrow-gauge setup, so I decided to go through your tutorial again, this time trying to use 0.91c. I just happened to still have my narrow-gauge template loaded at the time. Your first instructions in the tutorial, on pg3, says, "...please click the control -> clear all templates menu item and then the track -> hand -> B-6 left-hand reset menu item. So I dutifully clicked main -> clear all templates and then template -> REA B-6 LH turnout reset. And then it crashed as described. [I admit that I don't have the foggiest idea what a "REA B-6" turnout is.] Regards, Joe |
