Hi all, Try http://www.flashearth.com It accesses all the online photo mapping sites and a simple click will switch between the maps. Although the current google maps site seems to get the updates quicker. Dave |

Everytime I try to access using Microsoft's download site I end up going round in circles .Hi Phil, Microsoft Virtual Earth maps are at: http://maps.live.com You don't need to download anything to see them in 2D. You can see a road map, or an aerial photograph, or a mix of both. This particular view is at: Barnham aerial view. You can drag the picture around, zoom in and out, add "labels" (road names). Some parts of the country have the "Bird's Eye View" option, which gives a much higher resolution image. If you click the 3D option, you will be invited to download the Virtual Earth software (free). You can then rotate the image, tip it up, and swing round it to view from the other direction. Great fun! regards, Martin. |

davelong wrote: Try http://www.flashearth.comTotally agree Dave, but only up to a point. Looking at my property 51.27 4.5 N 2.46 40.3 W it shows that Google Earth is 4 years old, and Microsoft maps live is at least 5 years old. Regards Brian Lewis |

it shows that Google Earth is 4 years old, and Microsoft maps live is at least 5 years old. Sometimes (for our purposes) a bit of "out of date" is a help. But they do get updated - in Google, the area round our house has just been "done" and the image was taken last August and is VERY high-res. I can see the wheelbarrow in the Garden! Regards, Howard |

The Barnham pictures are all out of date as most of the interesting track appears to have been lifted for a major relaying excercise. The Island platform is being extended and the signalbox is to be demolished. Not sure what the layout will look like afterwards. |

I've got something similar on Soddigham-under-Piddle, the files are available in the appropriate thread here. Cheers Richard |
