Now demon.co.uk has joined Comcast in blocking all emails from Templot Club and also my off-group emails. I'm not prepared to jump through the hoops which these ISPs demand in order to accept our emails. Even when I do, they start blocking again after a few days, when their useless filtering software detects what it regards as spam from some other user on the same ISP mail server as us. If you are on demon.co.uk or Comcast for email, you may not realise that they are blocking your legitimate emails. Currently this applies to 5 members of Templot Club who receive direct emails. The only thing I can suggest is that you swap to receiving Templot Club messages via the Yahoo group. Even that may not work, this page from Demon is distinctly stroppy about Yahoo groups messages. Email filtering programs are now a bigger menace than the spam. The cure is worse than the disease! Martin. |

I'm pleased to report that today demon.co.uk seemed to have listed the blockade on Templot Club emails. And Comcast are not blocking at present (only a matter of time, on past experience ). So welcome back if you have been missing emails from Templot Club for the last 3 weeks. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin et al I must confess that the penny did not drop when things appeared to go quiet on the Templot Club front - I was not aware of the problem with Demon. Demon's filtering has been very good at dealing with "genuine" spam and so until now I have been very pleased with it. I have not encountered any problems recently with direct emails from Yahoo groups. Very occasionally something triggers the bouncing mechanism but I do not see this as a major problem. I will contact Demon and express my concern that legitimate messages are being intercepted by their filtering service but unfortunately I do not think Demon's current customer service is what it used to be. On the very few occasions since the days of the tenner a month dialup when I have needed to contact Demon the service has been very good - until one Sunday earlier this year when a problem was reported and "not" dealt with by the call centre. I suppose that to make some impact on situations like this, everyone concerned has to complain so that Demon (or any other ISP) realises that their service is not satisfactory. Regards Bill Campbell |

Hi Martin Despite Demon lifting the block, it's easier for me just to check into the forum from time to time so I unsubbed from the Yahoo group anyway. I had noticed that other daily digests I was getting from Yahoo were being bounced (at least I did when I noticed traffic was a bit light) and had to reactivate. Hopefully it will now be OK. Cheers |

It was too good to last. Comcast just started blocking us again. Martin. |

One of the spammers' aims is to bring down the email system. It looks like ISPs are helping them - right now I'm having problems with emails to me being blocked somewhere between PlusNet and Zen from one specific sender, but not when she uses her PlusNet webmail account! | ||
