If you are modelling track on a girder viaduct, here is an interesting detail pic posted on the Finescale Workshop forum. Bullhead track on waybeams, with adjustable turnbuckle gauge tie-rods: http://scalerail.phpbbhosts.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=1940#p1940 Rockmill Viaduct, Cornwall, between St Blazey and Luxulyan. regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin Martin Wynne wrote: Bullhead track on waybeams, with adjustable turnbuckle gauge tie-rods: With all those adjustable gauge tie-bars in the track I would think that those way beams are over due for renewal. They are only normally ued where several sleepers have deteriorated to such a degree that their unlikely to hold gauge. At one time several of the platform roads at Paddington had alternate gauge tie-bars and acrow props on the baulks before they were all replaced in the last rebuild. Unfortunately I never had a camera with me to take a few photo's. Cheers Phil |

I think it is only the posting permissions which require activation. I can see you (flubrush) in the membership list. regards, Martin. |

Jim Guthrie wrote: Is this an RMWEB breakaway? I see a good few familiar names appearing.Hi Jim, Well not a hostile breakaway. I think a few members felt RMweb has got too big, and it's too difficult to find the good stuff among the recipes for ginger cake and suggestions for the next Hornby catalogue cover picture. So they have created a sort of RMweb Lite version, with emphasis on the finescale end of the hobby. In practice I suspect most stuff will simply be duplicated across from RMweb. For myself I have not found RMweb a problem, but I do tend to use Google site search more than just browsing the lists. If you search on EM, P4, S7, C&L, Slater's, Exactoscale, Templot (), etc., you can find a lot of excellent material on RMweb. regards, Martin. |
