A fascinating collection of pictures showing rail connections at the Omaha stockyards a century ago. Pictures linked from, and more discussion at: http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26579 Thanks to Charles Morrill on the handlaidtrack group for the link. Notice the three-throw switch in picture 38. The impressive building in the first picture is the Omaha Livestock Exchange, as new. 1. no1mp3.jpg 2. I noticed in the discussion on the current use of the building, the following comment: "This past July, our oldest son's wedding reception was held in the Livestock Exchange Building." Losing a son and gaining a daughter? |

Fascinating stuff, particularly the track details; the 3-way turnout in 38 and the diamond crossing in 29 caught the eye, amongst others. cheers Nigel |
