Awaiting (for a couple of years already :() a few iterations of test-build, modify, 3d-print, then start all over again before this project becomes available:

Chairs, keys, slide chair stud bolts, switch anchors, and stretcher bar brackets (spares included) for a set of 7mm-scale B-switches.

Please note that these will NOT be made available in 4mm scale :giggle:

Yes, like those. I have some check chairs and 1:6 crossing sets of yours that I haven't got round to doing anything with as yet. Nice idea printing the chair designation on the underneath.

And another nearly 2 years passes by...

Does anybody know what the prototype did at the change from an inclined parallel (extended) wing rail to a vertical check rail? Or did they just use the PW, PWL and PWR chairs for the check rail instead of CC, CCL and CCR? :unsure:

Not that anybody would be stupid enough to spend days drawing parallel wing crossings:

Okay, so only the "left wing" variant is currently available. If anybody wants the "right wing" or "both wings" versions please let me know as the chairs are already drawn, I just don't like putting together the sprues :sleep:

Other recent additions to the shop include 1:9 & 1:7 common crossings and C switches.

Next on the "to do" list are 1:7 obtuse crossings, single and double slips. Hopefully in less than 2 years :)

Hi Dave,

I recall we spent some time discussing this on the old Templot Club forum. At some stage there must be a twist in the rail (as in the vee rails) to bring the check rail vertical. Or alternatively a special fishplate to join inclined rail to vertical rail. But I have never found a drawing showing the details, and no-one else seemed any the wiser.

Presumably there are some bullhead parallel-wing crossings still in place somewhere, and we could all go and have a look. Anyone know where?

Fortunately none of this affects the Plug Track I'm working on, because for that I have set all rails vertical.

I must do the chairs for the 1 in 7 single slip next as there's a layout part way through rebuilding that's awaiting a couple of sets. Or I could start on something much more exciting...

But what's more exciting than chairs and keys? Answers on the back of a blank signed cheque please

All the chairs for both are already drawn (see message 4743 above for an image of the ds assembly) but putting them all together in a sprue for 3d-printing just takes me several hours or even days...

I've finally managed to get the 1 in 7 single slip uploaded to my Shapeways shop Off The Rails (other shops are available) - sorry to those who have been waiting for this item. If anybody wants the 1 in 7 double slip please let me know and I'll put it onto the "to do" list but it may end up like split deflection switches which are/were on Martin's list once upon a time... :)

Still on there. :)

But since it would involve a significant re-write of the template generator, I suspect I no longer have enough lifetime left. :(

In the meantime they can be improvised by rotating the switch at the toe. I implemented an improvised Y-turnout that way, which seems to have seen off the constant requests for Y-turnouts. tools > make Y-turnout:

p.s. Your write-up says they are for 95lb rail as code 125 rail. That's 85lb rail at 7mm scale (BS-85R).

95lb rail (BS-95R) is code 131 at 7mm scale. An excellent code 131 rail is available from C&L, although now at very high prices.

Hi Martin,

When I started it was just code 124/125 rail that was available in 7mm scale. The only prototype info I had was for chairs for 95lb rail. At the time it was an unavoidable compromise. Now my eyes can't see the 6 or 7 thou difference (if indeed I ever could).

But if somebody starts selling some reasonably-priced scale-sized rail (i.e. with a scale thickness web) then I could be tempted to create a new set of chairs...

Must get back to my T chairs now...

It's a T2R; one of 13 designs of T chairs used on a Type 1 three-throw switch (Type 1 for sharply curved switches and Type 2 for more gentle ones -- 400 and 800 feet radius respectively I think, the scan has missed some of the info).
