TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

I'm getting frequent reports that Gmail is rejecting emails sent from Templot Club.

The report from Google is "This message does not pass authentication checks."

No other email provider is reporting any problems (except Comcast in USA, which rejects almost everything on principle and has done for years).

Clearly Google want me to install some of their own email sending code, just for their own convenience (and who knows what other info-harvesting code it might contain?).

I'm too busy with Templot at present to get involved in all this. I'm going to wait and see what happens.

If you are a Gmail user and not getting Templot emails, you might like to enable Push notifications, which puts a message on the corner of your screen at the same time as sending you an email. I find it very useful, and hardly need to see the emails. If you have been away from your computer, any pending push messages appear when you launch your browser.

Go to: https://85a.uk/templot/club/index.php?account/preferences

And click Enable Push Notifications. Scroll down and tick the Push boxes you want, and then click Save. Your browser will pop-up a message asking you to confirm that you want to receive push notifications from Templot Club. You can disable them at any time if you find them annoying.

cheers,

Martin.

This problem should now be fixed. Gmail and Googlemail users should now be seeing emails from Templot Club again.

cheers,

Martin.
