TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Admin Question -- Live screen demo sessions again

Quick reply >
Hi Martin,
I expect you also know that the demos can be downloaded from the Twitch site.
I have done so. Very useful indeed.

Hi Charles,

Yes, but unfortunately only for 14 days.

That's not long enough to forget something you want to refer back to. :)

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin

I started watching this on Saturday, I had one glitch, but given no-one else did I guess it must be my end (although generally I have pretty good internet, and have been offered FTTP but I can't be bothered with all that faff - can't believe I'm saying that!). But then it clashed with PM on the radio.

I've spent a happy morning watching this (and learning the notch placement "thing"), whilst doing server updates for our servers.

Thanks for taking the time for the stream in the first place, and for uploading it here.

Richard.

Martin

I have watched the 'Twitch' several times over the past fortnight and found that it explains one of the fundamentals about templates that I have been misunderstanding since I started using Templot.

In reality it is obvious in that there is a copy of the current active control template overlying the background template once you have stored it to the storage box.

This had led to frustration with the program and the problem of multiple copies of the templates in my storage box.

Thanks for the ,Twitch, videp which also showed me as then unexplored aspects of Templot.

Geoff
