TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

A very useful feature on this new forum which was not available on the old forum, is Bookmarks.

The Bookmarks feature allows you to "remember" a topic or individual post of interest, and go back to it at any time.

It's easy to bookmark any web page in your browser of course, but that can lead to a long list of assorted web pages in no particular order. This feature allows you to keep all your Templot Club bookmarks in one place:

1. click the bookmark icon on the relevant item.

2. you can add some optional information:

The Message is a reminder note to yourself about the subject of interest in this item.

The Labels are similar to tags, but in this case personal to you, no-one else can see them. You can give the same label to different bookmarks and find them all by clicking on the label.

3. you can see your list of bookmarks at any time by clicking the buttons at the top and bottom of the page.

The list looks like this:

If you entered a reminder message, it appears below the link. If you didn't, the first few lines of the item are shown instead.

If you click a label, you get a list of all bookmarks having the same label.

If the label you want isn't visible in the list, you can enter it in the Filter by label box to search your bookmarks for it.

You can edit or delete your bookmark by clicking the drop-down icon.

Another idea would be to create your own topic in the My notes and files section, where you could add other relevant web links, images, box files, or anything else, and bookmark your posts in that topic. Only you have access to your topics and posts in the My notes and files section.

cheers,

Martin.
