  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Container for keeping chairs in

Quick reply >
Im using a biscuit tin with a few small glass dishes to collect chairs together. Also I use a pin to position the chairs from the raft to the base. One minor problem I was having was pushing in the chairs. So half an hour with Designspark and I have a tool that seams to work to push the chairs in fully.

What type of containers do people keep their printed chairs in please
@Hayfield @James Walters

Hi John,

It's best to leave chairs on the raft until you are ready to use them. That way you can use a cocktail stick to handle them untouched by human hand -- see James's first video: plug track intro.

Chair details can be written on the back of the raft, or on a sticky label.

To store the rafts, serious track-builders might spend money on something like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AO1C1VK

In fact, they probably already have something similar for their Exactoscale chairs.

Less serious track-builders might keep the rafts in ordinary paper envelopes, with the flap held closed using a paper-clip, and stored in a shoe box. :)

cheers,

Martin.

No not sliced but needs to go to version 3. mine failed this morning needs an adjustment which I will do later. My slicer is set up for my Ender 3 so doing a sliced version would only work on my printer.

That's good as I use a Kingroon so the slicing to be compatible with my machine

Should I wait till you have ver 3 ?

As promised here are the files for the track tool version 3. The last file is the sliced file for an Ender 3 pro.
