TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

How do I use the forum?

Hi all, I'm back, sort of. About 3 months ago I suddenly realised that I wasn't getting any emails from Templot. When I got around to it I found that we have a new version of Templot Club; the demise of the old one somehow passed me by. So I registered for the new one.

What I would like to do, if possible, is to get an email for each post, as I used to, so that I can follow what's going on. What I seem to be getting is a summary every so often of what's been posted, which isn't really what I want.

So, how to I set things up so that I automatically get an email for every post? I've ticked everything I can think of, including Receive news and update emails and Receive activity summary email under Account Details. My guess is that it's the latter I'm getting but not the former.

Thanks
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

That's very strange because you made the first reply in this topic on the old forum: :)

https://85a.uk/templot/archive/topics/topic_3839.php

Lower down in that topic are the instructions for getting emails from each post from this new forum, see:

https://85a.uk/templot/archive/topics/topic_3839.php#p31676

It's a tedious pain to do, because you have to set up each forum section separately. On the XenForo support forums there is a frequent moan about it -- including from me.

Now that it's been running for more than 9 months, it's high time I made a proper page of instructions for this new forum. Always so much to do -- just at the moment I'm immersed in the 3D printing stuff, so it won't be for a while.

cheers,

Martin.
