TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Library viewer

Quick reply >
@Justme Igor Thanks to Igor for this suggestion. :)
Thank you for implementing the new library viewer feature into Templot, it will make my work on Amsterdam CS and the connecting yards a lot easier.

Just some thoughts:
How about making a space on the forum for people can download "difficult" solo configurations? like the 5 way switch i am printing atm(it is going to be big.....) adjustable to there desired scale?
I have some really nice "difficult" configurations in box files.
Or if i post a box file (several) for Amsterdam CS in my scale 1:32 p32 and someone want to make it in H0 for example?
Just some thoughts.

Btw the more i learn about this program the more i love it.

Cheers.

@Justme Igor

Hi Igor,

We already have some Resource categories for such files (nothing there yet):

Templot data files:

https://85a.uk/templot/club/index.php?resources/categories/data-files.11/

Other model drawings and diagrams:

https://85a.uk/templot/club/index.php?resources/categories/model.8/

Or you could simply start a new topic and attach your files to your posts. :)

cheers,

Martin.
