TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.

See the User Guide at Bexhill West.
The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.
For an updated overview of this project see this topic. For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.
The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Hello
I’m having a frustrating time trying to load maps from the NLS site this is the message I’m getting I’d appreciate any advice as to what I’m doing wrong
Many thanks
Michael
If that's a 25" map you are wanting, did you set the correct county in the drop-down list? They are the old historic counties and don't always match the modern names.
If you post the map link here I will see what I can find. Unfortunately there are some gaps in the NLS coverage.
And yes it’s for 2mmfinescale
I’m also trying to do the same with malmesbury but if I can work out the system that would be great to get an overall track landscape plan…
Many thanks Martin
Best wishes
Michael
Sometimes the NLS web site is very slow and Templot times out before the site responds. It's worth waiting a while and trying again.
It's possible that a security or antivirus program on your computer is preventing Templot from accessing the NLS web site, although I haven't had any reports of such a thing.
I have captured the map tiles for you, attached below for 2mm/ft scale. I combined them into a single picture shape, and twisted it 90 degrees for an easier fit on the screen. Templot can twist it to any other angle if you want.
Ask again if you need more help using the NLS maps.
