Map does not seem to be to gauge/scale

I have down loaded this map of St Margarets station in Hertfordshire having set the gauge to EM, but it seems to be under scale ?

I have been asked to help a contact in planning a layout based on St Margarets station, whilst it will have to be compressed the turnout configuration is quite distinctive. The trouble is when I overlay one of the mainline tracks, then use the automated double track tool, the resulting track does not match (map too small) the plan.

I started with setting the gauge first before going into Shapes then Maps no doubt I have missed a process/processes required, any thoughts please

Secondly is there an easy way of reducing the number of tiles please

Hi John,

You have loaded the map at the correct scale. The error in the double-track spacings is in the original OS map.

You can see that the scale is correct if you try fitting double track in the extreme top-left corner of the map.

I suggest choosing the track with pointwork as a datum, and moving outwards from it to create double tracks, ignoring the underlying map.

Alternatively, there is a more accurately-drawn later 1938 map at:

Unfortunately that's not available as a georeferenced tiled map. I can scale a screenshot for you if you wish?

Thanks for a very swift reply, I have tried this and given up twice thinking I had erred, also the formation required is a latter version with some revisions. I think I will start as advised, but whilst following the topography I will follow my own sketch as the map shortens the distances between turnouts, platforms etc

As an supplementary question, the chair file you produced has it been sliced/ready to go or do I need to put it through 3D builda and cura

Hi John,

Sorry I've forgotten which file you mean.

If it's a CTB file it is ready-to-go on the Alkaid or Mars2P printers using ABS-Like resin (not necessarily any other printers or resins).

If it's an STL file it won't need 3D Builder but it will need to be sliced -- in Chitubox for resin printing (not Cura, which is for FDM printing).

That was a CTB file, ready to print.

It is ready-to-go on the Alkaid or Mars2P printers using ABS-Like resin (not necessarily any other printers or resins).
