It looks like my Epson 1290 has finally given up the ghost, all I get now is the green on light and the red fault light, can't even change the cartridges. So it looks like I will have to persevere with the A4 printer for the moment. I do still have a Roland A3 pen plotter, which will no doubt take a lot longer, if I can get it to communicate with the PC. I haven't looked to see if the PC has a Printer port, I suppose there is always USB to serial.
Unless there is an Epson 1290 expert out there and it's something simple I can fix.
I will have to start saving up the pennies for something better.
For a short term fix it is possible to set the A4 printer to print something a bit longer but then it's a pain when I want to print a letter, just as well I have yet another A4 printer!
If no luck and I still have no luck, anybody want some Compatible Inkjet cartidges to suit a 1290?
