TEMPLOT 3D PLUG TRACK - To get up to speed with this experimental project click here.   To watch an introductory video click here.   See the User Guide at Bexhill West.

  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Printing from Storage Box.

Quick reply >
Is it possible to print or export for printing templates direct from the storage box.
@Murryb

Hi Murry,

To select individual template(s) on the storage box for printing or export, set it/them as member(s) of a group by clicking the group select (toggle) button for each one. Then in the output menu on the trackpad, click print group templates only:

All the other export and printing functions are also on the output menu. There is also a print now! menu for quick prints bypassing the printer setup and page preview stages.

I will look at adding a one-click direct print button on the storage box for an individual template -- thanks for the suggestion. :)

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Murry,

That's now done in 232b -- select a template on the box, and then click the print template now! button:

Your copy of Templot should update to 232b automatically if you restart it and follow the instructions. If you have the Templot Video Player open, please close it first.

There is no need to uninstall your existing copy of Templot.

cheers,

Martin.
