Removing Trackbed edge and cess lines

Hi
I have been playing around with the trackbed edges function. It didn't work as I had intended.I tried to delete by pressing the back button but I couldn't get rid of all the unwanted material. I had to quit without saving. However, is there a reliable and quick way to get rid of unwanted cess and cutting line lines?

Hi Graham,

Change the settings for the control template, and then click modify group to match:
