  • The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this topic.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see Building 3D Track.

The assumption is that you have your own machines on which to experiment, or helpful friends with machines. Please do not send Templot files to commercial laser cutting or 3D printing firms while this project is still experimental, because the results are unpredictable and possibly wasteful.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files. All files derived from Templot are © Martin Wynne.

Timbers with Modified timber colour persistent even when template set no timbering

Hi Martin

I am ending up in a bit of a pickle whilst designing a complex junction. I am setting some of the timbers to the alternate colour selecting both "show in this colour" plus "and background templates". This works fine but if I set the generator to "use Skelton settings" and then regenerate. As expected all the normal sleepers disappear but the sleepers with modified colour are still shown. What is more troublesome is that if I set the template to "no timbering" the timbers in the alternate colour are still shown.

Why am I doing this - to mark chair positions according to David Smith's book that must land on a timber.

I will get it fixed in the next update 227d as soon as I can.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi,

This bug should now be fixed in update 227d. If you find any problems, please let me know.

If you are using version 227c, 227b, 226f or earlier, your copy of Templot should update automatically if you restart it and follow the instructions to install 227d.

Thanks again for reporting it.

cheers,

Martin.
