• The Plug Track functions are experimental and still being developed. Some of the earlier pages of this topic are now out-of-date.

For an updated overview of this project see this post.   For some practical modelling aspects of using Plug Track see The Book of Plug Track.

Some pages of this and other topics include contributions from members who are creating and posting their own CAD designs for 3D printing and laser-cutting. Do not confuse them with Templot's own exported CAD files.

7 months on the new forum and still no posts in this "Tips and tutorials" section!

So here's a tip. :)

To measure distances on the trackpad, user the ruler tool -- utils > show ruler menu item:

The easy way to set the ends of the ruler is to hold down the ALT key on the keyboard, and then left or right click the mouse at the desired locations. The distance between them is then shown on the ruler.

Sometimes it is easier to see the numbers if you dab the HOME key to hide the control template.

More ruler options in the utils > ruler options > menu.
