... topic: 1628 Canon PIXMA iP4300 Printer posted: 14 Sep 2011 01:52 from: Richard_Jones Hi Does anyone know if I can "fool" the printer to print out on a piece of "double length" A4- ie a piece of A3 cut down the centre of its long dimension, as this would probably be big enough for the largest of my single templates, without the expense of buying an A3 printer. Similarly is there anything I might need to "fiddle" in the Templot print settings? Any ideas (or different solutions?) best wishes Richard posted: 14 Sep 2011 06:49 from: Dave Summers Nothing needs to be fooled or fiddled. 'Tiling' of templates is taken care of automatically by Templot. A long template will be printed on two or more A4 sheets which will butt up perfectly to each other once the small margin is removed. Few of us have an A3 printer but all of us can print out our masterpieces on our A4 machines! posted: 14 Sep 2011 15:07 from: ...

If you display the list, the list is given keyboard focus so that you can use the up-down arrow keys on the keyboard. So pressing D key goes to the list, not the window (where it does nothing, because the list items are not set as editable). If you pull focus off the list, by pressing TAB for example, the window regains keyboard focus and the D will work as an accelerator key without needing ALT. I was considering sending a file to a professional printer to have the plan printed full size on plain roll. This has raised other questions. a) How do you save a print file? I understand how you save a box file of templates. Is this what an external printer will require? Will an external printer need Templot software to read the file? When the control template is a turnout, Real -> switch settings... gives a show switch info button. Mis-tracking of stock is almost certain, especially when propelling. The solution is to build it with movable K-crossings (switch-diamond) or use much narrower flangeways. I'm puzzled how you will be able to run stock on this layout with such a mix of track standards. I would suggest adopting 00-SF or 00-BF standards -- for some old notes of mine about the 00 standards, see: message 567 I will change the diamond to 00-BF and add the slip road for you. Hopefully the file will be attatched to this post so you can see what i mean. Many thanks Andy Hi, Youo may consider this to be approaching what you want. Or it not the flange way do I consider reducing the check rail to wing rail dimension Hi Dave, This is why I sometimes think I'm wasting my time writing tutorials and docs. No-one ever reads them. I have posted the following dozens of times on RMweb and here, most recently only yesterday on RMweb. The check gauge is constant. For 00-SF (and 00-BF) it is always 15.2mm. Check gauge tools for setting this are available from C&L. Consequently if there is gauge-widening on sharp curves, the check rail gap increases by the same amount as the gauge-widening. This is true for all gauges and scales, always has been, and is also the case for the prototype -- special widened check rail chairs are made for use where there is gauge widening. Also available in A4 sheets if you can't do banners. It's only 1.5mm thick, so would probably need an additional cork or foam roadbed layer below it. If this dimension is too small, wheels running from left to right can hit the nose of the vee and very likely derail, or at least bump.
