I tried using the analogy of a large filing cabinet as a store and demonstrate what each term means when retrieving a template. Again you could see the eyes lit up. I am a very big fan of Templot and will promote it to anybody who is interested. My current project has 92 templates. Most of the time I only use about 10% of the capability at my disposal. A couple of people told me that they used Templot and I expect a number of happy users did not make themselves known. This was only a small show so I wonder how many people there are out there that "Cannot get into it" or have not understood the "Delete" and "Wipe" terminology? But I wonder if a could make a proposal? Why not, when posting a .box, include an image of the layout- perhaps in the form of a "dump" of a Templot screen. This would be very helpful in seeing if the layout is one which is of particular/ general/ no interest. I mention this as I have just had a minor disaster- having unconsciously adopted a *Templot way of working*- ie, resoring my last closing poition at startup then just quitting, thus exploiting the "automatic restore function". I take the point on the checkrails- I was quite pleased with myself for stumbling on how to extend them at all. Pleased you agree on the timbering- I just couldn't see how it would work otherwise. The two lower tracks in the box file are running lines, so are at 6' spacing, while the top line is a siding so is at 10' from the running line. I based this heavily on the description that John Preston wrote a few weeks ago (Thanks, John), but the increased spacing of the tracks did mean I had to improvise the scissors crossing a bit. There are some sample boxfiles lurking here around for Peco which Martin has done, which would provide a basis to start from if that is necessary.
