Details and pictures of point motors and wiring connections for a switch-diamond in this RAIB report released today: http://www.raib.gov.uk/cms_resources/100318_R042010_Greenhill_Upper_Jcn.pdf Martin. |

I have to say that up 'til now I thought it was physically impossible, by dint of mechanical interlocking, for a switch diamond to be set to the reverse condition illustrated in this report. You learn something new every day! Alan |

An interesting and thorough report. I am a bit concerned that so much information seems to be released into the public domain. There seems to be enough information in the wiring diagrams to maybe allow someone to tamper with circuitry. Or do I worry too much? Roger, Brisbane |

I think you worry too much. If anybody wanted to derail a train, they'd hardly tamper with a point motor, they'd just lay a large object on the rails! Alan |
