Hi, Newb here. Forgive me if this has been asked before!
Anyone using Templot for Proto 87 for any US Prototype? Or even finescale HO (that covers a lot of sins)?
Would be interested to hear of experience/see some pics.
I'm an English guy living just outside of New York in NJ - I was going to start a P4 layout but I feel I'm just too far away from sources.
I find track laying therapeutic (or did; it has been a longtime).

Thanks, Pete

Hello Peter,

For components, check out the yahoo groups: handlaid track, the p 87 group, accu track, finescale.

The p 87 group has components for handlaying, track, including spikes, fishplates, joint bars, etc etc and prototypical looking head ties and throwbars. They might have links for p 87 wheelsets or code 88 wheelsets.

Regardless if you use the Templot system for design, these links will give you options for the materials, the p 87 group also has frogs in finescale and regular, points.

Also check out handlaid track / fast track, they have some tools that in my opinion are priceless for helping you enjoy your handlaying experience.

Thank you. I have tried to join the Proto87 group - they never confirmed my membership however, so I cannot enter their site.

Andy's site is great (though a little confusing). I really need to see just what the "standards" are.

Best, Pete.

Wheels: http://www.nmra.org/standards/sandrp/S-4_1ProtoWheels.html
