I'm trying to create a scissors crossing, slightly unusual in that the two long sides are not parallel, in fact one side is curved and one of the turnouts is another diamond crossing ( Rhyl east throat-carriage sidings, turnouts 57, 61, 62). It's probably down to me being new to this excellent Templot. I'm working in s4X scale in order to ascertain turnout details and to compare with photos. I will eventually convert to EM. What happens is: working over an suitably scaled Ordnance Survey 1250 scale map I create the central diamond by using a turnout> half-diamond> full diamond. I then add the turnouts, modified to be "crossover", overlapping them on to the diamond. When I get to the 3rd or 4th turnout it happens! I position the turnout using F6 and F7. Then when I cancel the mouse action with the "arrow" button the point template flips round on its own with its peg lined up over the centre of the diamond. Help please? |

Hold down the SHIFT key when releasing the F7 mouse action, or untick the action > F7 snap options > snap on background templates menu item. F7 snapping can be useful when building a full track plan, but it is usually a nuisance when building a complex formation using partial templates. regards, Martin. |
