Dear all, There is an undocumented length limit of 46 characters for the file name for .bmp background image files in picture shapes, i.e. 50 characters max including the .bmp extension. Image files with longer names will load correctly first time, but will not reload subsequently. This may explain some reported problems with empty picture shapes when reloading .bgs files. 46 characters is quite a long file name and it did not occur to me that anyone would have file names longer than this. I can't easily do anything to increase the limit, but the limit should have been documented, and there should be a warning if users attempt to load a file name which is too long. Sorry about that, it will be added next time. The solution is simply to rename the file with a shorter name. Note that this limit applies only to image files (.bmp files) used in picture shapes. There is no limit* on the length of the file name when saving the .bgs file (or .box files). *other than the usual Windows limits on file naming. regards, Martin. |
