I've been told that I should keep up to date and put Templot on Twitter.

So I've added a Twitter button on the front page of Templot Club, towards the top right.

I've no idea what it's for, or what I'm supposed to do next, but we mustn't get left behind, must we? :?

If anyone knows what it's for, please feel free to use it. :)

regards,

Martin.

Martin,

Yeah, I heard of Twitter too but likewise have no idea about what to do with it.

Sounds like something to do with spending even more time at the keyboard instead of playing trains.

Are you sure the person who told you that didn't tell you on Friday morning last?  :D

Pete

As far as I can see Twitter is for letting the world know what you're having for lunch, where you're shopping at the moment, etc...

A fortnight on and I'm none the wiser. :?

So to compound the mystery I have created a Facebook page too:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Templot/216096855069383

I've no idea what that's for either. But if you do, please feel free to do Facebook things on there. :)

regards,

Martin.

Two months on and the Facebook and Twitter pages don't seem to have served any purpose at all.

I'm not sure what is supposed to happen next, or why I see similar links on so many web sites? :?

If nothing happens soon I think I shall remove the links from the Templot Club page, as they are not worth clicking.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

I have to admit I can't for the life of me understand the point of either Twitter or Facebook.
But then I'm not a yoof anymore!

Ditto, except that being of a pre-Janet Street Porter generation, I spell "youth" like that.

I can't understand the point of Tweeter - "I'm in Tesco".  "I'm just leaving Tesco". "I'm stuck in traffic leaving Tesco" - but Facebook is very useful.  Having moved away from Somerset to get a new job in Leicestershire, Facebook is really good for keeping in touch.  OK, there's email and phone, but you can't get other people joining in with that - with FB any of your friends can join in a conversation, like having a chat in the pub or whatever.  Talking of friends, I don't do the teenage thing of "friending" every Tom, Dick & Harriet that comes along just to up my friend count - my FB friends are real people that I know!
