Could we have a 'hand' function as in adobe applications? ie press the space bar the hand appears and the document can be quickly scrolled, I really find myself missing this! |

Click the mouse. Is that what you mean? Press ESC to finish. This is called move pad origin rather than "scroll" or "pan", because you can click the numbers and set the pad position precisely. Likewise the 1 key to zoom with the mouse. Those are the main keyboard number keys, not the numeric-pad (if you have such on a Mac). On a Mac those keys may not work -- try CTRL+F2 and CTRL+F1 instead. Or the action > mouse actions: pad > menu items. There are other ways to pan and zoom in addition to the tool-buttons -- the ARROW keys pan the pad (again maybe not on a Mac?) and in 09x versions the mouse wheel zooms, or CTRL + mouse wheel pans (click the wheel down to change direction). You could also switch on the edge-panning function -- hold the mouse against the edge of the pad to pan. (On the top edge you must be towards the right, on the left edge you must be towards the bottom.) This option setting is on the zoom/pan dialog window, and while switched on you can press the SCROLL-LOCK key (if you have one on a Mac) to temporarily disable it. Part of the problem may be that "scrolling" is called "panning" in Templot -- the term "scroll" is normally reserved for use with conventional scroll-bars. The space bar is used to quickly zoom the pad to just fit the control template -- this shortcut is far too useful to change it to anything else!  If none of the above matches what you mean in Adobe, please could you explain it in more detail? regards, Martin. |

Thanks, Martin Thats the one! I never realised that you could do that. I will use the 2 key in future I have just become accustomed to using the space bar in Adobe applications and it is something I use a lot in Indesign and Photoshop.I am actually taking my time to work through some of the tutorials for once! There are lots of places in the tutorials where the many additional features in later versions would simplify things. Which means they are long overdue for an update. Not a two-minute task when there are several hundred screenshots... How did I get into this?  Check all the later features listed on the pages at: http://www.templot.com/martweb/pug_info.htm and the videos also show some of the later features. regards, Martin. |
