As you have probably noticed, some of prototype defaults have been changed in TDV: 1. Timbering style is now square-on with ends-in-line. (Previously it was equalized incremental with centralized ends.) 2. Plain track sleeper length is now 8ft-6in. (Previously it was 9ft.) (For 00 and TT-3 it remains on 8ft.) 3. Plain track rail length is now 60ft / 25 sleepers. (Previously it was 45ft / 19 sleepers.) These defaults had remained unchanged for 30 years, they go right back to the first ever versions of Templot. We needed to move forward with the general modelling trends in the hobby. Of course these settings are easily changed. But many folks do use the defaults as-supplied, so it's important that they are sensible and appropriate for the current mainstream hobby. regards, Martin. |
