Hi Martin, I have encountered a Templot internal error tonight - fail code 24. It occurs in both 0.91 and TDV. I have attached a .box file which is just a crossover made from one of the templates in your On30 track demo boxfile. When I open it in either 0.91 or TDV and then click on Plain Track Reset to make the control into a length of plain track it asks if I really want to do this. Clicking yes it then reminds me that the timber lengths are not 8'6" or 9' and asks if I want to retain the non standard length. Clicking yes gives the error... When opening the file in 0.91 Templot reminds me that the .box file is from a later version as I made the crossover by editing your demo in TDV. Not sure if the error is anything to do with the mix of versions. Rgds Rob |

Hi Rob, Confirmed. Thanks for reporting it. Fail code 24 means the scale has become 0 mm/ft for some reason. I will investigate. However, the way to change a turnout to plain track is to click the template > convert turnout to plain track menu item or press CTRL+L and then ENTER. The reset menu items at the bottom of the menu are intended for recovery after errors. regards, Martin. |

I wrote:The reset menu items at the bottom of the menu are intended for recovery after errors.I have now removed those menu items from TDV. The new generator code is much more error-tolerant and now allows the turnout radius to go negative, which was the biggest single cause of calculation errors previously. So I feel these menu items are now redundant. Removing them has also freed the CTRL+Z shortcut, which I have provisionally reallocated to rebuild group. I know that CTRL+Z is often used as a global undo command. Unfortunately Templot doesn't have a global undo, and it's practically impossible to provide one -- like removing sugar from your tea, or unscrambling an egg. Templot's undo changes command is on CTRL+U, and applies only to changes to the control template. Making that CTRL+Z instead would I feel cause confusion in suggesting that it's a global undo. regards, Martin. |
