Hello Martin,

I don't know whether to be happy or sad as I having joined your beta crew initially seeing all the other more learned users posting feedback to the TDV I thought I might have been a bit to eager to jump on the band wagon. However the more I use TDV I find more and more features I never really knew about and that make life so much easier :) Anyway on to the reason for the post, whilst trying to reimport a background image (jpeg) back into a plan I received the following error. If I click on enter dimensions then it can be readded. Is this just me or one of the gremlins?

Regards
Tom

Hi Tom,

That's not actually a bug in TDV -- it's also in all earlier versions of Templot. :)

Thanks for reporting it.

It's not strictly speaking a bug. The add clicked shape function assumes that you have previously clicked 2 locations on the workpad to mark the opposite corners/ends of the shape which you are trying to add.

While the background shapes dialog is showing, the mouse pointer on the workpad changes to cross-hairs, and the locations clicked will be shown with small cross marks.

After start-up, if you haven't yet clicked on the pad, the add clicked shape function has no data to work with, and consequently you are seeing this alert. It can also happen if you clicked on exactly the same location twice.

I will add some additional explanation to the message.

Normally when adding a picture shape you would use the enter dimensions... function instead -- this allows you to select the options for automatic scaling of a scanned track plan.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Tom,

I have now added a separate alert to cover the situation:

It will be in the next TDV update.

regards,

Martin.

Excellent, thanks Martin. Makes sense that you have described it and the dialog box will definitely help.

Tom
