----- from Nigel Brown ----- Hi all Apologies for this simple but very O/T question. Are SATA 150 and 300 fully compatible? I have a motherboard with a SATA 150 controller which drives a now failing SATA 150 disc. Current SATA discs all seem to be SATA 300. So can I just plug in a SATA 300 disc? I'd be surprised if you can't, but thought I'd consult the pool of experience on this list first. cheers Nigel |

----- from Matt Harper ----- Hi Nigel In theory the answer is yes and most drives have a 150 limit jumper on them in case you have problems, but like all computer parts, you never know till you try it. Cheers Matt |
