Hello Has the calibration data format changed? When printing with an old calibration file, the output was "interesting": compressed in one direction by the looks of it - I stopped the print sharpish as I was printing on banner paper. Richard. |

Interesting, or not: printing un-calibrated on A3 is fine. Printing un-calibrated on custom paper size, produces the same kind of output as the above, 6" in the X direction comes out at around 4". | ||

Hi Richard, There is no change to the data format. Please could you attach the .cal file here so that I can investigate? Thanks, Martin. |

I think you may have a "fit to width" or similar setting selected. What is the custom paper size? regards, Martin. |

Hello No fit to width isn't set anywhere. The paper size was 13" x 24". Probably no help, but I exported the file to DXF, and printed fine from my CAD application. Thanks. Edit: Sorry forgot to add the calibration file; now attached |

Hi Richard, Thanks for posting the calibration file. It contains these settings: head factor: 100% roller factor: 100% so in effect it does nothing. Do the page outlines on the pad correctly match the page size? I think you need to check the settings in the printer driver. Getting banner paper to work is usually a battle of wits. It may not work with custom paper sizes. Refer to your printer's manual. regards, Martin. |

Hello Yes within Templot the page outlines on the pad match the page size. If I set the printer to non-banner, and cut the paper to size to start off with I still get the same result. Very frustrating. Richard. |

Hi Richard, Can you summarize the problem again please? I've got a bit lost. Are you saying that 1. Using a standard paper size, it works fine, calibrated or uncalibrated, single sheets or banner, and 2. Using a custom paper size, it doesn't, calibrated or uncalibrated, single sheets or banner. ? If so the problem is with your printer. Templot reads the page size information from the printer driver, but it has no knowledge of whether that is a standard size or a custom size. If that's not what you are saying, could you summarize again exactly under what circumstances it works ok, and under what circumstances it doesn't? I note that it is a photo printer. You haven't by any chance got it set to hi-res photo quality? That demands vast amounts of memory to no practical use, since a track template is perfectly satisfactory at 300dpi or 600dpi. Try changing to ordinary text letter quality or draft quality printing. regards, Martin. |

Just a quick follow up - it looks like this printer, an Epson 1200, is going up the tip. It's decided not to take up paper properly and then get's a bit confused about where it is on the paper. As I can't get offical inks anymore and lack of a proper Windows 7 driver, I think it's time for it to go. (Although it not taking up paper isn't the cause of the issue here.) Ho humm... |
