Apologies for this OT message on the forum.

Comcast are again blocking my emails.

This whole business is getting beyond a joke. I can send emails to just about every other ISP in the world without any problems at all. Comcast alone chooses to block my emails, and no sooner is the blockade lifted than it is imposed again. Comcast have also in the past blocked emails from this forum and may do so again. The forum uses a different ISP and mail server from my own emails, so it's clear that Comcast are blocking emails from multiple sources. If I was a Comcast customer I would be extremely annoyed that my genuine emails were being blocked without my knowledge or consent.

I really don't have time to be messed about in this way. With immediate effect I decline to supply Templot by email to Comcast addresses. Please use a different ISP for email to me, or alternatively I can be contacted by post, or via a private message on this forum.

regards,

Martin.

Thanks for some off-group messages of support. It seems that Comcast users are equally annoyed.

The problem is that instead of filtering each individual email for spam, Comcast takes the lazy way out and blocks entire ISPs and email servers if one user sends spam.

To understand how unreasonable this is, imagine that everyone in your street was banned from driving because one of your neighbours was found guilty of dangerous driving!

Thanks for the updates Martin. I think I have changed my preferences to another ISP mail address, so hopefully this wont be more of a problem for you.

Regards

NIck

Sigh. :(  Here we go again:

SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
host mx2.comcast.net [76.96.30.116]: 554IMTA03.emeryville.ca.mail.comcast.net comcast 85.233.160.25 Comcast BL004
Blocked for spam. Please see http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?faq=SecurityMail_Policy18628

Forum members in the USA using Comcast as their so-called service provider are again having emails from Templot Club blocked -- without their knowledge.

This is not the same as a spam filter, from which you could at least retrieve them.

This is nothing to do with Templot Club or the templot.com site. It's because some other customer of my hosting provider has sent alleged spam, and Comcast can't be bothered to filter on the basis of actual content. They just block every single email from my provider's mail server. Regardless of the fact that the majority of them will be genuine and some of them no doubt important to the intended recipient -- who will never know that their emails are being blocked.

The best I can suggest is that forum members on Comcast revert to receiving forum emails via the Templot group on Yahoo.

regards,

Martin.
