Hi, I sweated a an hour or so getting the contours of the table just right, but the next time I opened Templot, all that work was gone :-( I'm sure I did something wrong, or forgot something. How would I make these background shapes (CTRL-S) permanent? Another question is: Is there a way to introduce a curved lines (for the inside of my U-shaped table)? I could not find one, but I am curious if there is another solution except just drawing a couple of straight lines, to approximate the curve. Thanks, Mark |

radiopaque wrote: Hi,Hi Mark, Background shapes are saved in a .bgs file separately from your track plan files. This is so that you can easily try different track plans on the same baseboard outlines or in the same garden. If you quit Templot without saving them, Templot will prompt you to do so. Assuming you then did so, they will be in your C:\TEMPLOT\SHAPE-FILES\ folder, and you can get them back by clicking the reload... button on the top row of the dialog: bgshapes.gif Another question is: Is there a way to introduce a curved lines (for the inside of my U-shaped table)? You can draw a freehand line by clicking the draw with mouse button and then create an arc as a series of short lines. You can temporarily add a circle as a guide for this, and then delete it afterwards. More about the background shapes here: http://www.templot.com/martweb/gs_bgshape.htm There are a lot of changes in this area in the Templot Development Version (TDV). You are very welcome to join the development group and try it. There is a new sketchboard function within it which implements a full drawing package. Circular or elliptical arcs can be created by adding a full circle or ellipse, and then blanking out the unwanted part by adding further items in front of it. The arc and its blanking items can then be combined into a single item. I'm sorry there is such a confusing mix of Templot versions spread over 10 years development -- 074b, 091c, TDV. Functionally they are all fine, but I just don't have the time to write the documentation for them all -- a task 10 times greater than writing the program. My intention in due course is to move everyone to TDV and then withdraw support for the earlier versions. But we are not there yet. Or even very close. The documentation and videos are too far behind. regards, Martin. |
