As our thoughts go back to that terrible time 10 years ago, here again is a message which I posted on the Templot Yahoo group at the time:
To our American friends,
We haven't said much on this group about this week's terrible
events in your country, but I know that your suffering has been
in all our thoughts.
I am a member of a programming email group with over 2000
members spread across the entire world. It has been very
moving to read the many messages of support which have
been posted. I thought I would share some of them with you.
Martin.
--------------------I live in Indonesia, where the majority of the citizen are moslem like
myself. We are very sad about what happened in US and would like
to give the sympathy to all who suffers because of the terrorist act,
directly or indirectly. That kind of action has nothing to do with religion,
I think you understand what I mean. Terrorism is evil, no matter which
side they're on and the reason is.
God help us all.
Regards,
Budi Hardiansyah

I would like to send my condolences to US, I have four friends who
studying in US. I hope there are no war in our world !
There are 3,000,000 people who lost their life in The Vietnam's War.
God bless
Quang Minh from VietNam

All the people living on the world must curse this repulsiveness event in
USA. I'm from Turkey , we had many terrorist attacks against our citizens,
tourists, teachers, women, soldiers and even children by PKK. We lost
30,000 people to terrorism and I understand how American people feels now.
I would also like to offer my condolences to people of America.

--------------------
I would also like to offer my condolences to all American people
as a Brazilian citizen.
The American people is one of the most honest, noble and helpful in the world:
I can say that because I lived in NY/NJ 4 years and the American people helped
me a lot - not in material terms but they teach me many of their moral values.
But don't let hate and revenge take your hearts.
Don't forget that you are a christian country: let's listen to Jesus (or Moses,
or Khrisna, or Buda, or Allah) words: Violence always brings more violence.
Here in Rio de Janeiro, in a region called 'Saara', thousands of muslim and
jewish families live in harmony for decades - they married their son and
daughters, they celebrate together, they prosper together. Let's learn this
example: the only way is friendship not warfare.
God bless you and be strong in this terrible days,

I'm an Iranian citizen and I would also like to offer my condolences to all
the people of America. I know, there are many problems between Iran and USA
governments but I think we are all human, and we are all associate together
in this world. we should live in peace together and we should not let few
fanatical people destroy our peace, our world and our Peaceful relations.
Also Mr. Khatami the President of I.R. IRAN offered his condolences to all
the people of America a few hours after this happened.
It is very shocking to see this kind of terror and it is very cowardly.
Best Wishes,
Farzad Badili

We Indians are with you.
I am an Indian and would like to express my sympathy for all the people who
have suffered in one way or the other form this terrorist attack on USA. We
in India are suffering this kind of terrorist attack on daily basis. We
also have similar people in our country who enjoys all the benefits of
being in India but celebrates each and every cross-border attack on India.
We were requesting all the nations to get united against this kind of
terrorism. But now I hope situation would improve.
We pray to God to give some senses to the people who have done it.
My sincere and heartiest condolences .

A tragedy of monumental proportions. My thoughts and prayers (and
many South Africans) are with the American people. This is not just
an American tragedy but a world wide tragedy and we hope that the
perpetrators of this disgusting cowardly crime are brought to justice
soon.
