Chatting with a pway engineer on a heritage railway, he was having a problem making some track fit in a new location. I suggested it may be possible using a model railway package. This was poo-poo'd by another, but the engineer was a bit curious as to whether Templot could indeed to be used to rough out a full-size layout using for example the scale of 1/100. I did explain the system uses prototype track dimensions and parts, and seems to scale them down. Any ideas anybody? |

Hi Roy, Several heritage railways are using Templot, and one manufacturer of contractor's railway track. I received an enquiry only yesterday from a 15" gauge railway in Wales about the design of a single slip in Templot. I have to make it very clear that Templot is intended only for modellers. If used for passenger-carrying railways it is the entire responsibility of the user to ensure that all safety-related design features and regulatory requirements are complied with. regards, Martin. |
