Chatting with a pway engineer on a heritage railway, he was having a problem making some track fit in a new location. I suggested it may be possible using a model railway package.

This was poo-poo'd by another, but the engineer was a bit curious as to whether Templot could indeed to be used to rough out a full-size layout using for example the scale of 1/100.

I did explain the system uses prototype track dimensions and parts, and seems to scale them down.

Any ideas anybody?

Hi Roy,

Several heritage railways are using Templot, and one manufacturer of contractor's railway track. I received an enquiry only yesterday from a 15" gauge railway in Wales about the design of a single slip in Templot.

I have to make it very clear that Templot is intended only for modellers. If used for passenger-carrying railways it is the entire responsibility of the user to ensure that all safety-related design features and regulatory requirements are complied with.

regards,

Martin.
