I have only recently heard about Templot so am totally new to it. When I go to the Download page it says Templot 2 is not yet available but there is no information about downloading the current version? Is it still available and if so where can I find the download please? With thanks David |

Hi David, Welcome to Templot Club. You have arrived in the middle of some changes. For over 12 years Templot was a paid-for program, but the paid-for versions were withdrawn last month. Soon a new free version will be available (Templot2), supported by voluntary donations. But it is not yet ready, sorry. In the meantime you are welcome to download and use the Templot Development Version (TDV), which is the only version currently available. For more information see: message 10771 and follow the links. regards, Martin. |

Thanks David, you have asked the very same question that I was about to, and following Martins reply I have also managed to get it up and running. I think for an oldie like me who is new to model railways it may be a rather steep learning curve. | ||

Only a minority of modellers make hand-built track, and almost none of those would have started off doing so. You may find that commercial track and a program such as AnyRail is an easier way to get started: http://www.anyrail.com How far have you got with railway modelling? regards, Martin. |

Hi martin, thanks for the reply, although I am new to the model railway world I have been interested for many years. During this period I have been more active in the "Model Engineering" world and more recently with G1MRA and I am currently building a gauge 1 "project" locomotive. I quite often jump in at the deep end as I am also a member of the "S Scale" society, so I will probably try to stay with Templot, but once again thanks for the information.
