Hello, I've designed a small 2mm scale layout that I want to build using Easitrac. The problem is that I have a Mac and it is critical for work so I don't want to instal any software other than for work.

If you're a member of rmweb you can see the development of it here:
http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49529-blt-with-cheese-%E2%80%93-testing-my-patienceskills/

or if not please see the final plan below.

What I'd like is for someone to draw up this plan in Templot so I can start laying it out and making track. The baseboard is 1200x720mm but I can stretch to 1250x750 if needed. Also, I'd prefer to use Easitrac points patterns so all the track is the same system.

I'd be happy to donate towards your time by PayPal (or you can help out a fellow modeller with the goodness of your heart?...).

I can supply a 1:1 file is most formats – EPS, JPEG, PDF, AI, PICT, PSD, PNG, plus many more. I drew it in Adobe Illustrator.

Please let me know on here or by email/PM if you're interested and I can send the file.

Cheers!

OK - daft question:

If you are going to use the Easitrac system why do you need the plan in Templot?

Surely you can use the Easitrac products?

Regards.

Thanks for your question. Currently, Easitrac doesn't have templates for curved points so I will have to use alternative templates. Templot is a great way to achieve accurate trackwork you can build on.

You have curve radii of 9.5". I don't think that works with 2mm FS.

Hi,

The problem with using a program such as Illustrator is that you can end up with some impossible curves, as Alan explained. The turnout into the yard by the signal box looks impossibly sharp. A tandem turnout there might work better. To get a full 180 degree turn in a width of only 720mm will require an extremely sharp curve which may not work in 2mm finescale. At the very least you will need to rotate the plan to make full use of the available width.

I think it's unlikely that access to the engine shed would require turning the table. It's more likely that the engine shed would be on one of the through roads across the turntable.

regards,

Martin.

I know this is a long time after the original post, but 24" is the recommended minimum radius for 2FS.

regards,

Keith
