Can anyone help before I go completely mad? I have been trying most of this afternoon to convert my drawing to a P D F, in order to pass it to my friendly works printing contractor who is willing to print a full size banner copy for me. Each time when the process is completed and the message comes up that the job has been done I accept the invitation to view the finished document, only to find that the page displayed is the correct size but completely blank! Having done this procedure before with complete success I am not sure what is going wrong this time. Does any one out there have any suggestions, I am using T D V with Adobe already installed on the machine working on Win7. Thanks in anticipation, Wally |

This is a good example of "sods law"! Immediately after posting this I noticed the previous messages on the same theme in a different thread and will try that solution tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience. Wally |

For anyone else finding this topic, the problem is in the Adobe Reader program. Adobe Reader won't accept pages greater than about 200" or 5000mm long. The actual limit seems to vary with different versions. Instead, use Foxit Reader or Nitro Reader, both free downloads, to see larger pages. I tend to prefer the Nitro reader for viewing PDFs. http://www.nitroreader.com http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/ If you are using a local print shop, you need to ask them which software they use. If they can use only Adobe, you will need to reduce the PDF page size and print your plan in 2 or 3 pages. Also, make sure they turn any page scaling off. This issue has now cropped up 4 or 5 times in the last few weeks. I think I should add a warning note in Templot not to use Adobe Reader if the page size exceeds the limit. Will be in the next TDV update. regards, Martin. |

Many thanks for the proposal to incorporate the message about file size in the next update, if it saves anyone else wasting a complete Sunday afternoon getting increasingly annoyed and consequently missing the clues in the previous posts as I did it will be most worthwhile! The downloading of Nitroreader did the job magnificently and all is now well. Wally |
