Apologies for any inconvenience.

Message from Jim at Data 1 Systems:
Intermittent server outages this Saturday Mar. 24, as we are putting in a larger and upgraded power supply backup. Outages should be no longer than 10 minutes max per server, less than half the servers will be affected. We are also installing server 21, a new class of server with dual quad core processors and 24G of ram. This will possibly replace server 9 depending on demand.

24Gb of RAM! - I remember when hard disks where that big. (OK I remember when hard disks where in Mb rather than Gb, but I don't want to seem that old!)

The first hard disk I had was a 15Mb (yes, fifteen) one to go with my HP150 PC in the early 1980s,  and that was the larger option,  The smaller option was 5Mb. :D  These disks came in their own boxes with their own power supplies,  and the boxes were as big as the PC's case. :D  It also sounded like a cement mixer when it was working,  but it never broke down on me.  I think I remember the PC having 256Kb of RAM, instead of the normal 64Kb, which was needed to run Lotus 1-2-3 properly. :D

No Windows then - all MSDOS and EDLIN as your editor. :D

Jim.
