Hi Max,

1. For gauntlet track, start with a turnout. Click template > gaunt options > gaunt turnout menu item. Then use F3 mouse action to extend the gauntletted section to the required length.

2. For a diamond-crossing, start with a turnout. Click tools > make diamond-crossing menu item. Press the INSERT key and print the background templates.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

I've done the straight turnout and the gauntlet, but I'm having trouble with the crossover.

I need to make one that's at right angles.

Regards
Max

Hi Max,

Sorry, 90-degree crossings are not supported in Templot. They are extremely rare on the prototype and each one tends to be individually designed. There is no agreed standard design for them.

There are some notes about this, and a drawing of a GWR 45-degree crossing, in this topic:

topic 160

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin

Crossovers are quite common in the US, which is where the NMRA is rooted.  I'm working on my MMR degree, so I have to follow their rules.

Fortunately The angle isn't critical as I just have to demonstrate that I can make one, but the closer it is to a right angle, the easier it is.  :D

I have been able to get enough info from the scanned book page to draw my own template.  :thumb:

Thanks again.
Max
