Could someone please tell me how to move a stored template into a different storage box.  This morning I created a number of satisfactory templates and stored them.  I saved all before quitting for lunch.  After lunch, despite no alcohol being taken, I made a mistake.  I reopened my previous session, made some alterations to some of the templates and printed some.  I lost one of these templates when I think I deleted to control a subsequent template without store and background to the previous one.  Anyway it is nowhere to be seen in the box.  I have saved this afternoons work before quitting.

My question is, whilst I can open this morning's session and its storage box, can I move one of the templates (the one I later lost) from in there to this afternoons session's storage box, thus recovering my lost template?

I am using v.0.91c with Windows 7.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Bob,

First of all, it is difficult to lose a control template. There are 80 slots in the roll-back register so you need to have made 80 changes to the control template before you lose anything.

When you thought you had lost it, you could have pressed CTRL+U or CTRL+D repeatedly until you found it again (do > undo/re-do changes). Even easier is to hold down CTRL+SHIFT keys and roll the mouse wheel to and fro until you find it.

The roll-back register is cyclic, so after 80 steps forward or back, you are back where you began.

Now that you have quit Templot you have lost that option, so you need to extract it from the box files:

1. reload the box file from this morning or whenever which contains the missing template(s).

2. select it and any others you want as a group of templates.

3. group > save group... and remember to make a note of the file name. (A group can consist of a single template.)

4. reload the box file from this afternoon which has the template(s) missing.

5. reload/add from file... and select the add new templates to existing option, to add the one(s) from the group file you just saved to those already in the storage box.

There are other ways of doing the same thing -- you could add this morning's file to this afternoon's, and then delete any unwanted duplicates. It depends how many templates are in these files.

regards,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

Many thanks for your reply.  Yes, I remembered the roll back option - but too late!

I will give it a try tomorrow when I have the opportunity.
