Hi Martin,

Quick question...

By posting within a topic does that automatically add me the  "following this topic" mailing list ?

Because I can't see a "follow this topic" button but I can see an "un-follow button" so assume that I've been added to the mailing list.

Regards,

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

First of all, please, please, please, don't email or PM me. Post questions here, that's what the forum is for. I have posted your message for you above.

I know there is a webmaster link at the bottom of the page, but that is for those having trouble accessing the site, logging in, etc., and unable to post messages. Sorry to be a bit stroppy, but there is a clear note about this underneath my name on every message I post. If I go on receiving unnecessary emails and PMs I shall simply close the whole Templot site down, it's making me ill.

Normally when you post a message there is a tickbox below the editor:

Notify me by email when there are further replies to this topic.

This will be ticked or not ticked in advance according to your preference setting at:

http://85a.co.uk/forum/my_account.php?edit_preferences=1

but you can change it to whatever you want for that topic.

On this board following a topic and receiving email notifications is called "watching" a topic. You can start or stop watching any topic by clicking the Watch Topic or Unwatch Topic buttons at the bottom of each topic page. You can also manage all your watched topics at:

 http://85a.co.uk/forum/my_account.php?watched_topics=1

If you are not receiving notification emails, the first thing to check is that you have entered your email address correctly at:

http://85a.co.uk/forum/my_account.php?edit_profile=1

and that it is a valid working address. This is the biggest single reason folks don't get their emails -- a typo in their email address.

regards,

Martin.

Many apology for using the email link rather than the forum.
I obviously set my preferences to receive notifications way back when I first signed up which was so long ago now and I am such an infrequent user that I just forgot.
Rgds,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,

I'm sorry I was a bit ratty there.

The whole point and purpose of making Templot free is so that I too can be free -- of any obligation to respond to users.

I always try to help when I can, but I just can't any longer guarantee to respond to anything and everything that comes at me. With a direct message common courtesy requires a reply and I just can't do it any more.

regards,

Martin.

That's alright Martin,
I understand how Templot must have grown into your very own personal monster consuming all your time and energy.
Now that it's free perhaps the time has come to be more selfish and just leave it to its own devices, allowing you to do the things you'd rather do. Once the last paid for version has passed the 12months mark then your free of any obligation to anyone. You could always offer it to the RMweb site, as there would no doubt be many "experts" willing to advise etc.
Just a thought
Rgds,
Stuart
